Dreaming of a Harry Potter themed party for your child? Thinking you have to floo powder all the way to The Wizarding World in Orlando to experience Hogwarts? (No floo powder or broomsticks needed!) Dumbledore and the gang can come to you! One of our most popular shows with the new Fantastic Beasts movie, as well as the addition of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child to the J.K. Rowling family, it seems the exciting magic of the Wizarding World has taken over the children of New York City once again. All you have to do is choose your adventure (be your own Sorting Hat of sorts).
It’s orientation day at Hogwarts. And as you know – for Harry and his friends – nothing ever goes quite as planned. Dumbledore will be there to greet the party – taking the children through their first day of classes. The birthday child will play either Harry or Hermione and together – with their friends – the children help Dumbledore make objects appear, disappear, and transfigure.
During the show, the talking Sorting Hat magically “sorts” everyone into the 4 houses. And each house uses their unique abilities and strengths allowing the children to access their confidence and teamwork to help Dumbledore each step of the way.
But what if you want more characters? Viola! You can also choose a show where Dumbledore, Snape and Trelawney are all part of the special day. But Snape is up to some devious tricks involving a sleeping potion and taking over the school for 1,000 years! But with the help of the children and Professor Trelawney, they are able to stop Snape and save Dumbledore!
Turns out the children are the real magic – even when helping to levitate the birthday child in mid-air.
So what makes our Harry Potter themed show a must have for your party?
Often magicians “present” magic tricks to kids in order to fool them. Opposition easily occurs because the children aren’t asked to be creative or to help out. And we all know kids love to be the helpers – not to mention, tell us adults when we are wrong! That’s why I always play the adult that doesn’t know what’s happening and desperately needs the kids to help me – even as Dumbledore.
In fact, the world of J.K. Rowling is the perfect theme for this because Harry, Hermione, and Ron – with the help of their school friends are the ones that ultimately save the Wizarding World. Invoking strong themes of friendship, acceptance, camaraderie, teamwork, and a whole lot of magic, our Harry Potter show is sure to be the childhood experience your kid never forgets!
